Electrodiagnostic (EDX) Testing

If you have been referred for an EDX test, you probably have questions about what this test involves.

Electrodiagnositic testing uses two different types of test to evaluate your nerves and muscles.

  1. Electromyography (EMG) evaluates how the nerve and muscle are communicating.
  2. Nerve conduction study (NCS) is used to evaluate conditions causing numbness, tingling, pain and weakness.
